Abroad

European Missionary Fellowship
Church building project in Belarus.

Mihail and Albina Nkitov have pioneered a church in Ruba, a small town in North East Belarus, which was without any Christian witness.

According to the National Constitution, Belarus does not have an official religion, although historically it is Russian Orthodox. While in theory people are free to worship as they please, any religious organisation deemed harmful to the government or social order can be prohibited.  The media often distort the teaching and practice of evangelical churches, and portrays them as a divisive sect. There is legislation in place, which in effect discriminates against small evangelical churches and aims to curtail religious activity in the country.
